A Song for Sally

1. This is just a quick post and is a follow up to something I read today on the site of the academic gadfly who I would  like to call the Lion of Lebanon, Dr. As’ad AbuKhalil, known to his many many fans as the Angry Arab. He linked to this song sung by Egyptians about their hopes and dreams for the county they want to build and so I listened to it today.  I haven’t gotten over it yet. I hope I never will.

He linked to youtube, but I’m linking to the the website for the project as well as the page on that site where the song is.

I have not done the sort of research I normally do when posting,  I was just very much moved by the presentation of the choir,  so I can’t say much about them.  Apparently one young member, Sally Zahran, was martyred in Egypt very recently. Am awaiting details. She was 22 years old.

Here is what is on the youtube link about her:

Start quote:

End quote

Listen to the song, give it a minute or so. It just gets better and better and better.

It’s only in Arabic.  While I can give at least two recommendations of where not to go to find out what the Arabic means, I suggest you ask the Mermaid for a translation, since she, unlike the two imbeciles I’m thinking of, actually knows both Arabic and English.  I don’t know if she’s got the time, of course. And maybe one of the Lion of Lebanon’s readers will post a translation.   I’m not going to, because I don’t want King Abdallah bin Hussein to understand it.

Here is the choir’s Facebook page.

And here is the youtube vid:

Support Your Own Illegal Israeli Settlement

The illegal town of Ariel

1. Glenn Beck insults radical Islam by comparing it to Reform Judaism and then apologizes not to the Muslims but to the Jews. Shows you it ain’t them there Mooselims who control the media.

2. Hey goys and girls, are you interested in supporting terrorism, violating international law, stealing other people’s property and being in general a smug narcissistic asshole and getting the US taxpayer to subsidize this behavior? Of course you are, who wouldn’t be?  So you will be most interested in a new occasional feature that the tuyuur here at Mantiq al-Tayr have come up with called “Support Your Own Illegal Israeli Settlement”.  Once every couple of weeks or so we will choose a nice Israeli settlement built on Palestinian land and we’ll give you some links about it so you can learn about what a great place it is. We will also provide you a link so that you can make US tax-free donations  in order to keep the illegal settlement going – something you really should go to jail for, but here in the US this sort of theft and support of insane Israelis is encouraged and the taxpayers as usual get to foot the bill. What a deal.

Our inaugural voyage into the realm of illegal Israeli settlements is the lovely (and did I mention illegal?) town of Ariel, which lies not far from Nablus and which the Jewish Virtual Liebrary has the chutzpahpahpah to call “the capital  of Samaria.”

Founded in 1978 by Likudnik Ron Nachman, this 8-mile long illegal settlement has about 20,000 residents – many of them Russian Jews imported during the 1990’s. It also has a “university” of about 12,000 students a few hundred of whom are Arabs  which makes everything better.  Residents get highly subsidized by the Israeli government as it is clear that this settlement was and is designed as part of a major land grab in the northern West Bank. Again, the Liebrary tells us:

“The city’s position expands Israel’s narrow waist (which was 9 miles wide before 1967) and ensures that Israel has a land route to the Jordan Valley should Israel needs to fight a land war to the east. Because of its size, most Israelis favor the incorporation of the Ariel bloc within whatever may be the final borders of Israel. It is more controversial than the other “consensus” settlements because it is the furthest from the 1949 Armistice Line. Nevertheless, Prime Minister Barak’s proposal at Camp David included Ariel among the settlement blocs to be annexed to Israel; the Clinton plan also envisioned incorporating Ariel within the new borders of Israel.”

The residents of Ariel are there because of the “higher standard of living they enjoy and the economic incentives provided by the government. In particular, residents can obtain better mortgages and repayment terms because the government designated Ariel as a “national priority” development area.”

You will be glad to know that Israeli ass-kisser and very likely to become the next Israeli Vice President for American Affairs, Mike Huckabee, went to Ariel early this month and made a complete ass of himself, something he is very good at doing.

Huckabeestein went to the Ariel Regional Center for the Performing Arts, which btw is the subject of a boycott initiated by Israeli artists who have a conscience – unlike Huckabee obviously – and said, and I’m not making this up:

“what some people from outside would call a settlement, most of us would look at this and tour it and call it a community – a thriving community – where people are being educated, encouraged, enjoying life and raising families .”

When the boycott of the ARCPA was mentioned to him by reports, Huckabilly actually made an indirect threat to those who support the boycott.

When asked about the artists’ boycott of the Ariel Regional Center for the Performing Arts, Huckabee said: “People have boycotted me previously. I consider it a badge of honor. I am sure that this university and this community will thrive. I am not sure that the people who do the boycotting will.”

And of course, the neo-con nutcase Jennifer Rubin who blogs for, surprise surprise, the Jerusalem Washington New York Times Post (JEWNYTP) recently visited Ariel and managed to learn nothing at all as she drove on the West Bank’s “Jewish only” roads.  She, like Huckabee, believes in a “one-state” solution to the problem – that is that only Israel exist. Not quite what Ali Abu Nima might have in mind.  But I digress.

Huckabuthead, an ordained Baptist minister and living proof that American Christianity is pretty much just a bunch of Zionist Bullshit, got interviewed for Politico and said stuff that no doubt made Jennifer Rubin get really excited.

“The trips also have political lessons. Huckabee met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a committee of the Knesset on this trip, making headlines for his dismissal of the land-for-peace bargain that underlies the peace process and of the very idea of a Palestinian state in the West Bank.

Such a state “can’t be on top of the same real estate that the Israelis control,” he told POLITICO. “There’s no such thing as a realistic hope of this two-state solution.”

He said demands that Israel rein in settlements have only encouraged Palestinian demands. Instead, he said, the U.S. should “encourage the Israelis to build as much as they can and as rapidly as they can.”

I love this quote from the interview:

A parliamentarian who backs Israel’s settlements, Danny Danon, told POLITICO that if Huckabee “had to get elected in the Knesset, I’m sure he would be the president of the United States.”

Yet again, I digress. Let’s get back to Ariel as we go down the “Jewish only” road.

So if you are the  kind of person who admires a Huckabee or a Rubin, you can go to the “American Friends of Ariel” website and make your tax-exempt contributions to a one-state solution – one state that will end up having no Palestinians at all.

To go to their donation page, click here and see the message at the bottom of the page that says:

“Please note that all donations are tax deductible in the U.S.A.”

3. Now, I have to comment on something. It’s not the sort of thing readers of this site come here to read, but it is such an urgent matter that I feel I have to make a comment.

As hard as it is to believe, it does appear that the owners of the National Football League are going to lock out the players starting March 4th and NFL fans around the country are facing the prospect that if no labor agreement is reached by late in the summer, some of all of the coming football season will be in jeopardy.

I want you all to know that we here at Mantiq al-Tayr are fully on the side of the NFL owners in this dispute.  The owners are among the ruling elites in this country and they for the most part hate your guts and they would do anything they possibly could to fuck you over in a New York minute if they had the chance. And in fact they do so on a regular basis and NFL fans seem to enjoy it. I hope the owners totally crush the players union and do so in a way that even Shas Party members can see just how much the rich hate the guts of working people.  I want them to stomp the players into the ground and when it’s all over – and I hope there is no football season at all in 2011, the players have to go back to one-year contracts making the wages of your average Walmart assistant manager.  Your NFL ticket prices still won’t come down, you will still  have to buy PSL’s, you will continue to subsidize their huge fucking stadiums, and you’ll still have to pay through the nose for  Direct TV’s “NFL Ticket” and the cable companies showing the games will just jack up their rates. And you – you stupid dumb tax-paying Israeli-supporting Fox-fed American morons won’t do a damn thing about it. You deserve it. Fuck you.

I feel better now.

4. Man, do we need something to cheer us up.

How about this? :-)

American Christianity

(AP photo used in the Politico article cited above.)

Hmm. Guess that one doesn’t work, does it?

How about this? Huckabee vs. Derwoshitz

Nah, that just makes me even more upset.

How about this:

Gosh, I am just striking out today. Give me another chance.

Okay, one more chance. Please.

Just one more, I promise.

See, I’m getting better. And here’s one more. It’s real short so Shas Party members can follow it.

“Kill a Palestinian and You Shall Enter Heaven”

A picture from AIPAC's website

1. Keeping track of the activities of the Zionist traitors to the US is sometimes time consuming, often very aggravating,  but it can also be fun.  The US government is so permeated with these traitors that they barely try to cover it up and at times they seem to not only be boasting about it, it is also like saying “Whatya gonna about it?”.

And sadly, all we can do is expose and make fun of it. Since the US government is Israel’s toy boy, there’s not a whole hell of a lot we can do.

Let’s start with the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC).  They just loved the veto the US issued yesterday of a proposed UN Security Council Resolution that says (in part):

“Israel, as the occupying power, immediately and completely ceases all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem and that it fully respect its legal obligations in this regard.”

The UN News Centre also reports:

The resolution, co-sponsored by over 120 of the UN’s 192 Member States, also called on both parties to comply with their obligations under the Road Map plan, sponsored by the diplomatic Quartet of the United Nations, European Union, Russia and US, which seeks to establish a two-State solution of Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security within recognized borders.

It urged all parties to continue with their negotiations on final status issues in the Middle East peace process and called for the “intensification of international and regional diplomatic efforts to support and invigorate the peace process towards achievement of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.”

So you have a resolution that is in full accord with official US policy. It says the settlements, all of them are “illegal”, calls on Israel to stop building them, supports the US Road Map Plan which it notes was sponsored by the so-called Quartet that just happens to include the United States, and it calls for everyone to get back to the negotiating table.

Therefore the US vetoed it and the official reason given by the US is that the resolution’s calling for peace talks based on principles specifically outlined by the United States will make it harder for there to be peace talks. As US (ha) UN representative Condoleeza Susan Ricestein said:

Unfortunately, this draft resolution risks hardening the positions of both sides. It could encourage the parties to stay out of negotiations and, if and when they did resume, to return to the Security Council whenever they reach an impasse.”

Remember that the Palestinian Authority is staying away from the table specifically because of continued Israeli settlement activity.

The message is so plain and simple that even Shas Party members can understand it. Obama works for the Jews. The NJDC’s statement shows how happy the Jews are with this.

On behalf of the National Jewish Democratic Council, we applaud the action this afternoon of President Barack Obama and his representative, the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Susan Rice. Once again, after days of unfortunate and unproductive speculation, our President stood alongside our democratic ally Israel in the Israel-obsessed United Nations.

The statement also proves beyond doubt that all these NJDC members really care about is Israel:

We, like all Americans who hold dear the special U.S.-Israel relationship, owe President Obama and his Administration our deep collective appreciation for his stalwart support for the State of Israel – today and always.

Yup, “stalwart” support “today and always.” So no matter what horrible crimes against humanity that Israel does on a daily basis, these traitors will always see to it that the US will support Israel. The US is Israel.

I’m surprised their statement didn’t end with “Nice work, boy.”

2. Okay, let’s move on for a second to a goy traitor who is doing his best to act like he’s Alan Derwoshitz. That would be IRA terrorist sympathizer and therefore Chairman of the House Fatherland Committee, Congressman Peter King (Asshole, New York). King  has been featured here before and he’ll be featured many more times until this website is forcibly shut down.

As many of you know, King is engaging in an anti-Muslim witch hunt and is using your tax dollars to do it. His Fatherland Security committee is holding hearings looking into how Muslims in the United States whose relatives are being blown to smithereens by:

1.      Israel

2.      Other US Allies

3.      The US itself

4.      Any combination of the above

get radicalized and go off to do some pretty dumb things. When asked to include other groups in his sham investigation he did not say, but should have: “Look, this is a great big fucking hoax so I can get more attention, get the Jews to support me, and I get to fuck up brown people. I consider that a win-win situation for me. So I am not going to include any other groups.”

Anyway, since King is a supporter of terrorism he is naturally calling on another supporter of terrorism, Walid Phares to come speak at his witch hunt. Now this Walid Phares is quite a character. He currently works for, among other things, an insane outfit called the CI Centre which is a bunch of wackos from within and without the US government who get cushy contracts to train government employees about how Muslims are all hiding under their beds waiting to kill them. An outfit called Political Research Associates is set to publish a report that “ profiles three key counter-terrorism firms offering highly politicized, biased seminars and industry conferences, in their capacity as quasi-official voices against the influence of “radical Islam” in American society:”  The CI Centre is one of those three firms. And the people they train are US public servants.

Here’s what the teaser for the upcoming report has to say about the CI Centre:

The Counter Intelligence Centre (CI Centre) functions as a training academy and speakers’ bureau in the D.C. beltway. Here, veteran cold warriors mingle with a new breed of Muslim converts and terrorism pseudo-experts to propagandize about Global Jihadi Threat Doctrine—a conspiracy theory that renders all Muslims suspect and replaces the Soviet threat with a new existential, permanent threat from Islam. CI Centre’s high-profile faculty garner media attention as experts, and forge connections with senior officials and a network of neoconservative foundations, many of whom join the Centre on its annual Spy Cruise.

Hey PRA, please please get that report out now.  Thank you.

Walid Phares is one the CI Centre’s speakers. Of course it gets worse, much worse.

Enter the Angry Arab.

First of all, I have to say I am getting to like the Angry Arab more and more. I mean I’ve been a fan for a long time, but I swear this guy is just getting better and better. But I digress.

For some time, the Angry Arab has been saying that Walid Phares is a former member of the Lebanese Forces (this is not the Lebanese military), a vicious militia responsible for the mass murder of thousands of Palestinian men, women and children at Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. Loonwatch has recently picked up on this and has an excellent post which also draws on some of the Angry Arab’s work. I’m going to reproduce some of this stuff here because I want you to read it.

Back in 2007, As’ad AbuKhalil, the Angry (and very funny) Arab, posted the following material and did so underneath two photos of the Arabic news clippings to which he refers below. You can find those photos at the link to the Angry Arab’s post and also on the link for the Loonwatch article, but you won’t need them to get the point.

Walid Phares and the Lebanese Forces. I am aware that Phares now likes to deny his past role with the Lebanese Forces (the right-wing, sectarian Christian militia that–among other war crimes–perpetrated the Sabra and Shatila massacres). Somebody yesterday posted a comment challenging my statement about Phares and his association with the Lebanese Forces. These are only two of many newspaper clips that I have in which his affiliation is clearly noted. In the top one, (As-Safir, 12/6/1987), it said that “Member of the Command Council of the Lebanese Forces, [and] head of the Lebanese Immigration Apparatus in the Lebanese Forces, Walid Phares, lectured on “the Role of Free Christianity in Lebanon and the Middle East.” In the lecture, he also “criticized the mechanism of the development of Lebanse Christian resistance over 12 years.” In the second one above, (As-Safir, 27/8/1991), Phares was identified as the “vice-chair” of the Extraordinary Emergency Committee for the Lebanese Front (the political leadership committee of the Lebanese Forces) (the chairperson was Etienne Saqr (who founded the Guardians of the Cedar, which during the civil war raised the slogan “Kill a Palestinian and you Shall enter heaven,” and he now resides in Israel). And it has to be said that his rise in the Lebanese Forces took place at a time when it was aligned with the regime of….Saddam Husayn.

And it gets even worse.

AbuKhalil also posts here:

Regina Snayfir was a fighter in the Lebanese Forces militia in the 1980s. She later saw first hand scenes of torture and murder and left in disgust. She wrote a revealing account about her experience, and how the Maronite Patriarch did not react when she informed him about the dungeons of torture in Lebanese Forces’ prisons. She also said (in her memoir, Alqaytu As-Silah) that when she underwent military training, she remembered the most fanatic anti-Islam bigot who spoke to the fighters during training. She said that Walid Phares was the most passionate in mobilizing Christians to fight Muslims at that military base that she was at.(pp. 119-122).

So this is the guy that Peter King is bringing in to testify at his witch hunt.

3. King does support Israel’s murdering of innocent civilians. He makes this very clear in this press release. The press release is on his own webpage.

June 13, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact:  Carol Danko,  (202) 225-7896

NEW YORK, NY – Today, Congressman Pete King (R-Seaford), along with religious and community leaders, declared their support for Israel and their opposition to a U.N. investigation into last month’s flotilla incident, involving an Israeli interception of a Gaza-bound ship.  The leaders called for passage of Rep. King’s bill, the America Stands with Israel Act (H.R. 5501), which was introduced on Thursday.

King’s legislation reaffirms America’s support for Israel by calling for the removal of the U.S. from the United Nations Human Rights Council and prohibiting the use of American taxpayer dollars to fund a U.N. investigation into the flotilla incident.  It also reaffirms Israel’s right to defend itself and expresses U.S. support for Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza.

“As one of our closest allies, we should be standing with Israel, not endorsing a U.N.-sponsored attack against it,” said King. “By participating in this investigation, the Administration is driving a wedge between the U.S. and a long-standing friend. American tax dollars should not be used for this purpose, which is why I introduced the America Stands with Israel Act, calling for the removal of the U.S. from the U.N. Human Rights Council and from participation in the investigation.”

4. Speaking of traitors, this year’s AIPAC conference starts May 22. It will be fun to see watch the AIPAC website as it gears up for this annual event where US government officials, no doubt trained by Walid Phares and the CI Centre, humiliate themselves in front of the whole world as they lick the boots of the Israeli dominatrix.  I hope Walid Phares will be I invited as he has described himself as having been one of Israel’s “faithful allies.”

5. Then there is the story of Mossad Jane Harman.  She announced she’s going to replace shill Lee Hamilton as the head of the Woodrow Wilson Center just weeks AFTER winning re-election. She will be leaving her seat at some point in the near future. I find this rather odd, something else is clearly going on.

Anyway, Mossad Jane serves on the very same committee that Peter King is chairing.  She would have been on a much higher committee, the House Intelligence Committee, and according to this article she was talking to an Israeli agent about forcing Pelosi to give her the chairbitchship of the HIC.  But poor Mossad Jane got passed over due to the brouhahahahahaha that ensued.  But it does look like she’ll be around for the witch hunt. Imagine, innocent Muslim Americans being witch hunted by a guy who supports IRA terrorism, a guy who used to work for the vile Lebanese Forces militia, and by Mossad Jane.  Is this a great country or what?

6. While no doubt tens of millions of people, including millions of Egyptians have seen the song below, some of you all may not have. It’s a celebration of the victory of the Egyptian people over Hosni Mubarak. The Egyptian people have a very long way to go in their quest, and they are much more aware of this than all of the “patriot” bloggers  who continue to pontificate on Egypt as if they know something, but the great people of Egypt also have a right to take great pride in what they have done.

For King Abdallah bin Hussein, the English translation of the lyrics can be found here.

The Egyptian People Deserve the Nobel Peace Prize

1. The Egyptian people deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. To be more accurate, the Nobel Peace Prize is not good enough for the Egyptian people, but still it would be a great gesture and would make lots of Arab regimes even more uneasy than they are now.  Fortunately for them,  most likely rich white men will not want to bestow it upon that incredible people, but you can sign the petition here.  I only wish the petition also called for stripping Obama of his.

2. Remember that New Years day bombing of the Coptic Church in Alexandria? 23 people were killed and the media were all to happy to report that “Mooselim extremists” had done the deed. In fact, some tiny faction of Palestinian morons known as JundAllah (“Assholes” in Arabic), is said to have done the deed, though they did deny it.  The group, perhaps because they knew what really happened, or perhaps because they just are out and out assholes, said that it “praised” those who did do it. Back to that very shortly.

But hell, the Bullshit Broadcasting Network (BBC) pinned it on them, so it had to be true.

Interior Minister Habib al-Adli said Cairo had “decisive proof” that the Army of Islam carried out the attack in the northern Egyptian city.

And of course all of the Main $tream Media went along for the ride. I mean, if Interior Minister Habib al-Adli said it was true and that he had evidence, well then it had to be true. Mooselims did the killing, radical horrible Mooselims, the worst kind of Mooselims, Palestinian Mooselims.

Well, if these reports turn out to be true, al-Adli did have proof, all of the proof. How did he get it so fast? Because his subordinates planned and initiated the attack setting up the fall guys in the process. Yup, if the reports are true – and the current Egyptian government is now investigating prosecuting al-Adli for these murders – then we have an interesting story indeed. Again.

The story is that Adli’s people planned the attack, got the patsies involved, killed one of them at the site of the bombing and then arranged to have the other two arrested at a meeting a few days later. Inexplicably, these latter two were let out of jail when Mubarak turned the thugs in Egypt’s prisons loose in order to punish his people. They then went to the British embassy and reported what had happened.  Could all be baloney, but . . .

And of course, if it turns out that the Egyptian government did orchestrate the killings, then we have yet another piece of evidence that no terrorist bombing can ever be taken at face value. None. Not one. But I’m sure most readers of this blog already know that anyway.  You need evidence – and that evidence is pretty darn hard to get, especially when you have to rely on the MSM.

Oh, and Al-Adli is also being investigated for his role in killing innocent Egyptian demonstrators. Oh, and the link I am giving you for this is on the Muslim Brotherhood website for the benefit of all you “patriot” bloggers who are now acting like Egypt experts. (I am not an expert on Egypt, and claim only to know that lots of Egyptians seem like wonderful people.) Browse around the site. You expert Arabists who think you know something about Egypt, and you know who you are, you might want to try the MB’s Arabic website too.

3. A while back a regular reader of this blog inquired about a website known as the “The Angry Arab News Service” asking if it were any good. I replied in the affirmative and recommended she keep visiting the site.

The Angry Arab  (Dr. As’ad AbuKhalil) has been especially good the past three  weeks or so with his commentary on and his links to the tremendous events in Egypt. I’m going to single out a couple of them here but I strongly recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about what’s happened in Egypt to scroll through his site, especially “alternative” media bloggers so many of whom have recently anointed themselves as experts on Egypt and are filling the internet with  articles and podcasts about what’s been going on there. Oh, I forgot, I already mentioned them. Sorry. Back to the main idea.

First of all, despite some indications that the military leaders are hijacking the revolution, I want to point to Dr. AbuKhalil’s post here where he lists 14 points to keep in mind as events unfold in Egypt. He’s spot on.  Give them a good read.

Oh, and I have to comment on point 14, which just might be my favorite point on this list. Dr. AbuKhalil informs us (no doubt correctly):

14) The vulgar singer, Sha`ban `Abdul-Rahim who sang for Husni Mubarak will come out with songs against him.

As all the experts on Egypt out there on the internet know, did I mention that there sure as hell are a lot of experts on Egypt, out there? Oh, I’m digressing.  Anyway, as all you experts on Egypt know, Abdul-Rahim’s most famous song is “I hate Israel.”

I can hear you all now, “Mantiq, that sounds like a great song? Is it on youtube so we can hear it?”

Well, yes it is and it exists in different versions. You can find one of them here. And listen carefully to the words and maybe you will understand why the Angry Arab says what he says.  (The video has some great pics in it too.) My favorite part of the song is when he sings “I love Husni Mubarak because he is so smart, when he takes a step he really thinks things out.” (Hey, I made it rhyme. )

I guess one could hope that Shaban was just being funny and put those words in to get past the censors.

Dr. AbuKhalil also links to this article which provides some interesting historical perspective. It is also well written. It compares the events of the past weeks with the 1919 revolt in Egypt. Read the whole thing. I provide you with two excerpts:

Ms. Ifdal Elsaket writes:

The anxious jubilation and the revolutionary vivacity that permeated the atmosphere of Egypt’s cities were reminiscent of the events that unfolded during Egypt’s popular uprising of 1919, when, for the first time in the history of the modern Egyptian state, thousands of ordinary Egyptians of all classes, men and women, young and old, Muslim and Christian, took to the streets to demand political change. In that year, after decades of British occupation, political discontent, and worsening economic conditions, the Egyptian nation rose – its people becoming an unwavering force to be reckoned with. . . .

Tellingly, as I write this, and in an expression of profound historical poignancy, one of Sayyid Darwish’s song’s “Biladi”, popular with the protestors of 1919 and adopted in 1979 as the Egyptian national anthem, roars through the Square. At this moment, one can not help but think that perhaps, almost 100 years later, the aspirations of 1919 might finally be fulfilled.

I liked this post too. It’s very short. So short even Shas Party members can pay attention to it. In fact, I’ll quote it  here in full.

“When you watch the Egyptian people, you have to say this: they are the most articulate people one knows.  They never run out of words to say and they never pause for the right word.  This is true for the educated and the less educated alike.  Their journalists are very good with words, their politics aside.  In some way that is also true of the Syrian people.”

4. The all-knowing all-wise master informs us:

But here’s the big question in Egypt now: Can this youth-led democracy movement take the power and energy it developed in Tahrir Square, which was all focused on one goal — getting rid of Hosni Mubarak — and turn it into a sustainable transition to democracy, with a new constitution, multiple political parties and a free presidential election in a timely fashion? Here, the movement’s strength — the fact that it represented every political strain, every segment and class in Egyptian society — is also its weakness. It still has no accepted political platform or leadership.

Let me take a minute to point out the Arabic expert who wrote this that the movement’s focus was not on one goal. They made this clear early on  and they repeatedly stated their goals in the Arab and the international press. They also printed them and raised them on banners in Tahrir Square and elsewhere. Friedman, read this, for example.

Or try this one.

Okay, okay, you can read it in English here.

Also, for an excellent read on the upside of not having the kind of leadership the all-knowing all-wise one calls for, go here. Warning, it is written by an Egyptian who was there and the article has not been through the MSM filtering process so it can be published under David Sanger’s name in the NYT: you might get a perspective that would disturb the Israeli lobby, Eric Cantor and Jane Harman.

5. I really did want to write about Mossad Jane Harman‘s resignation from Congress while poking great fun and an awful article about that resignation in the Jerusalem Washington New York Times Post (JEWNYTP), but I just don’t have time. Hopefully in the next post.

6. I might have an interesting tidbit for regular readers of this blog if something I’ve been trying to arrange behind the scenes works out of the next day or so. I’ll post it to the site quickly if it happens and put out a notice on twitter and facebook.

7. The Mermaid put this on her facebook page. Beautifully done. Join in with the Egyptians as they celebrate.  The voice of freedom is calling you too.

Hosni Mubarak Takes A Shit: On the People

1.  Egyptian President until killed by the masses, Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, took a shit last night. Unfortunately, he did so on the people of Egypt. Obama is busy wiping his ass for  him.

2. I don’t know what Mubarak, Sulayman and the Egyptian Army are smoking, but I sure hope they’ll share it with all of us. :-)

3. Traitor Jonathan Pollard is rushed to the hospital. Nothing trivial I hope.

I bet they let that traitor out. We ought to send him to Maydan al-Tahrir.

4. Dov Lior is wanted for questioning by the Israeli government.  Seems Israel wants to pretend it is not a completely racist state – just like Hosni pretending he is a legitimate president in Egypt. Fortunately, 70 Rabbi’s have come out to defend his right to be a racist asshole living on land stolen from Muslims.

5. If Israel wants to ever have a chance of not having every single man, woman and child in Egypt to not hate them, I suggest they immediately bomb the shit out of Hosni’s presidential palace in Cairo and kill all the presidential guards in the process. The Egyptian Air force won’t do anything because the Egyptian military is only able to fight people who are utterly defenseless. So they will just watch like the cowards that they are. So Netanyahu, let us see our tax dollars at work for a good cause, for once.

Mubarak Calls on Obama To Step Down as President

1. (By Mark Griffe Janine Witte Zacharia Sanger. Cairo, Feb. 6. Mantiq al-Tayr Press – MTP) In a breathtaking move to seize the initiative in Cairo, Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak appeared on the podium in Tahrir Square today and addressed not only the Egyptian people but also the entire world. The crowd of over a quarter of a million onlookers looked up in stunned silence as Mubarak appeared on the podium, picked up the microphone and began his address.  The address was as shocking and dramatic as it was unexpected.

“Oh people of Egypt” he began, “it’s time for you to go home and start leading normal lives again. If you don’t, I am going to turn the army loose on you. They’ve wanted to kill all you sons of bitches from the very first day of this ridiculous waste of time, but I have been the one who has stopped them. As of the curfew time’s beginning today, and that’s in about 2 hours from now, I have ordered them to squash you people like the fucking little wretched cockroaches you are.”

“Before I go on, I want to take a moment and tell that arrogant half-breed American President, Barak Obama, to shut the fuck up. In fact, I call on you, Obama, to step down immediately and begin a transition to a US government that isn’t run by a bunch of fucking pussies. Yes, I said it, pussies! You could either have sided openly with me, or if you had had the courage, you could have even called on me to step down in no uncertain terms. But no, you didn’t have the balls to openly side with me or with these soon to be dead miscreants who are standing here in Tahrir square. So get the hell out of office and put someone else in charge who has about as much regard for the US constitution as you or I do, how about Donald Rumsfeld? He and Umar are pretty good friends you know. Yeah, he’d be just the guy.”

Suddenly, Mubarak reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a yellow document and waved it in the air saying “And this President Obama, this is my mother fucking birth certificate! Where the hell is yours? I may be a corrupt blood-thirsty, Israeli-ass kissing, two-bit tyrant just like you, but at least I am a fucking Egyptian.”

Mubarak put the paper back inside his jacket pocket, paused for just a moment, and then said:

“One other thing before I close. After I get done kicking your asses from here to the Aswan dam, I going to shut up those damn Palestinians in Gaza once and for all. Oh, hey, Abu Mazen, listen to this. I have had it with you too. Once I’m done with Hamas, I coming after your ass. Fuck the PLO, fuck Palestine. Everyone knows that Arabs pretty much all hate the Palestinians anyway, we may as well just let everybody know so we can put an end to this bullshit peace process. My government hates the Palestinians, the Syrian government hates the Palestinians, the Jordanian government hates the Palestinians and God only knows that every single Lebanese citizen would gladly put all the Palestinians in a big fucking gas chamber and let Netanyahu pump in the gas and they’d all dance around it singing “Nah nah nah, hey hey, good-bye.”

“Okay, you’ve got two hours to get the hell out of here and go back to your worthless stupid peasant lives in this shit-hole called Cairo. If you don’t, well what do you think we have this huge bloated corrupt military for you idiots? It’s not to fight the Israelis, hell, even today they’d kick our asses all the way to Casa Blanca – besides if they wanted to, they’d just nuke the Aswan dam and then all of you sons of bitches would drown. No, the Army isn’t there to fight Israel, or anyone else for that matter. It’s there for times like this when you uppity over-educated useless eaters get out of control. I order General Tantawi, the head of the Egyptian armed forces, to kill anyone who is demonstrating anywhere in Egypt as of 3:00 pm today, Egypt time. You have about an hour and forty-five minutes folks. Go home and eat that shitty mulukhiyya stuff you claim you love so much. I’m going to the palace and downing a whole barrel of Kentucky Fried Chicken while I watch the Super Bowl. God, I hate the Steelers, but I digress.”

Mubarak then ended his address with the traditional:

“Peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of God, you mother fuckers.”

The reaction was muted at the White House. Presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs said that Obama was pleased that Mubarak had been able to resolve the crisis and hoped that the Egyptian people would then move forward with their lives. Gibbs said Obama was busy watching the Super Bowl eating a huge barrel of Kentucky Fried Chicken and would probably phone Mubarak during half-time of the game.

2. I kind of find this interesting:

(JTA) — Cuban prosecutors will seek a 20-year prison sentence for accused spy Alan Gross, a U.S. government contractor that the State Department says was assisting Cuban Jews.

Gross is accused of “Acts Against the Independence and Territorial Integrity of the State,” Reuters reported, citing a Feb. 4 report by Cuban state media via a government-run website. . .

Cuban authorities detained Gross on Dec. 3, 2009 on his way out of the country, saying he was a spy.

Gross’ family and State Department officials say he was in the country on a U.S. Agency for International Development contract to help the country’s Jewish community of about 1,500 to communicate with other Jewish communities through the Internet.

The main Jewish groups in Cuba have denied any contact with or knowledge of Gross or the program.

3. I have an idea. Why don’t we trade Jonathan Pollard for Yigal Amir?

4. Elliot Abrams has announced he will not run for Egyptian President next year.

5. “Eliyalu Eliezer Werdesheim, 23, a Shomrim volunteer and former Israeli special forces soldier, and his brother Avi Werdesheim, 20, who does not work with Shomrim, have been charged with false imprisonment, second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon. Both are scheduled to be arraigned in Baltimore City Circuit Court on Feb. 16.”

If a Sunni Muslim group engaged in this kind of thing, they’d ALL be in jail.
