Egyptian Army Pledges Not to Resort to Violence

1. The Egyptian army said today:

“The presence of the army in the streets is for your sake and to ensure your safety and well being. The armed forces will not resort to use of force against our great people,” the army statement said.

“Your armed forces, who are aware of the legitimacy of your demands and are keen to assume their responsibility in protecting the nation and the citizens, affirms that freedom of expression through peaceful means is guaranteed to everybody.”

We’ll see how this plays out.  Let’s hope the army keeps its promise and does not renege. There is a bit of a loop-hole here as al-Jazeera reported:

[The military] urged people not to resort to acts of sabotage that violate security and destroy public and private property. It warned that it would not allow outlaws to loot, attack and “terrorise citizens”.

2. What,  no Juan Cole? I am shocked.

It turns out that pardoned criminal Elliott Abrams was invited but was already committed to speaking to CAIR about how to bring Muslims and Jews together. Just kidding, he was going to an American Jewish Committee event and so he told Obama he just couldn’t make it.

Another nut case neo-con, Robert Kagan, was also invited but could not attend, even though, and I am not fucking making this up, he is a co-founder at Brookings, along with Michele Dunne of Carnegie,  of the “Egyptian Working Group”. The Working Group issued a statement on Saturday that, I’m sure this will stun you, is being highly praised by William Kristol of The Weekly Piece of Zionist BullShit. He claims that the Working Group is “consistently ahead-of-the-curve” and quotes its Saturday statement quite favorably.

The working group is:

” a consortium of policy experts from Carnegie, the Council on Foreign Relations, Human Rights Watch, the Center for American Progress, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, the Foreign Policy Initiative and Freedom  House”

So you can see even more clearly that it is neo-con and Zionist-riddled through and through. I am including the statement in full below because it sounds so damn nice. It came out Saturday.

Amidst the turmoil in Egypt, it is important for the U.S. to remain focused on the interests of the Egyptian people as well as the legitimacy and stability of the Egyptian government. Only free and fair elections provide the prospect for a peaceful transfer of power to a government recognized as legitimate by the Egyptian people.  We urge the Obama administration to pursue these fundamental objectives in the coming days and press the Egyptian government to:

– call for free and fair elections for president and for parliament to be held as soon as possible .

– amend the Egyptian Constitution to allow opposition candidates to register to run for the presidency.

– immediately lift the state of emergency, release political prisoners, and allow for freedom of media and assembly

– allow domestic election monitors to operate throughout the country, without fear of arrest or violence.

– immediately invite international monitors to enter the country and monitor the process leading to elections, reporting on the government’s compliance with these measures to the international community

– publicly declare that Mr. Mubarak will agree not to run for re-election. We further recommend that the Obama administration suspend all economic and military assistance to Egypt until the government accepts and implements these measures.

I await for an Israel working group made of As’ad Abu Khalil, Juan Cole, Amjad Atallah, Rashid al-Khalidi,  Norman Finklestein (token Jew), Joseph Massad, Nidal Awad, Ibrahim Cooper and public intellectual Michael Collins Piper to be formed and invited to the White House to have direct input into US policy vis-a-vis Israel and to issue policy statements. I bet cutting off aid to Israel would have been recommended a long time ago.

More importantly though, this shows that key elements of the Israeli lobby have long been aware that Mubarak was basically finished and they are now trying to make sure US policy is steered in a direction that places Israeli interests first and foremost, all the while telling the world how much they just love the Egyptians by putting out statements that look like they were drafted by National Council of Little Old Ladies in Tennis Shoes (NCLOLTS).  But you heard it here first, if the Egyptian people end up in danger of actually taking  control of their own country, highly unlikely but I’m rooting for it, things could get really really interesting.

3. And it is in the context that I have just outlined above that I highly recommend that anyone watching the Israeli/US reactions to events in Egypt read Justin Ramondo’s  excellent piece today on how the Zionist lobby and some of its sex-slaves in the US Knesset are fear mongering about how the Egyptian Intifada is going to be taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood and turn Egypt into another Iran and blah and blah and fucking blah. This is code for “If those goddamn mother-fucking Egyptians try to establish real self rule we will tell the Egyptian armed forces to blow the bastards to kingdom come and we’ll help them do it.”

And that, ladies and gentlemen, brings us back to item one above.

Al-Jazeera English Reports Military Given Permission to Use Live Ammunition

1. I have just heard an al-Jazeera English live stream report that the army has been told to use live ammunition if it has to. In light of this post I linked to  in my comments section from the Angry Arab, we could be on the verge of a dramatic change in the course of events in Egypt.  Just as that post predicted, yesterday all sorts of looting took place (even before yesterday in fact) and the police somehow just disappeared. In the meantime criminals have been let out of jail. So all hell is breaking loose in some places, a perfect excuse for a military crackdown.

Also, fighter jets are now buzzing Tahrir square, called stupidly by those morons on Fox News yesterday “Revolution Square.”

2. Before opening today’s Jerusalem Washington  New York Times Post I asked myself “I wonder how many Israeli points of view on Egypt we are going to get today?”  Well, we get the criminal Elliot Abrams, Zionist Jew Janine Zacharia and the ridiculous Griff Witte.  As a make up call, an article by Leila Fadel is presented. It’s worth reading.  I’m only linking to Ms. Fadel’s article. If you want to read the other shit, find it yourself. Oh, and if you’ll get a laugh if you check out the second Zacharia link above.

3. For what’s it worth, I’m torn between several points of view on interpreting the situation in Egypt. On the one hand we have the US screwing around with Egypt from every angle imaginable, to include the Brzezinski crowd of which El-Baradei is a part, we have the neo-con/Israeli assholes – virtually indistinguishable from major parts of the US government and media, we have the various interest groups in Egypt, and last and most certainly least, we have the long-suffering Egyptian people.

Is Egypt being used as a proxy battlefield between the Brzezinki’ites and the Israelis? Or, are they working together?

The Israeli interests are the ones that I’m most fascinated by. On the surface it would seem that the status quo is good for Israel and certainly there are plenty of quotes by Israelis – and I include Abrahms and Indyk as Israelis – that support that easy to conclude position. But Israeli also loves instability all around it and a completely fucked Egypt might be to Israel’s benefit.  Anything that could make Egypt look like a bigger threat is to Israel’s benefit, especially since Israel can be assured it will be fully backed by an utterly insane American administration and populace – possibly even more insane, certainly much more stupid, that their Israeli counterparts.

What I hope is that the قطة gets out of the كيس and the whole thing blows up in the faces of all of the above except for the Egyptian people. Wouldn’t that be nice?

A Cry for “HELP” from Egypt

The so called Egyptian “government” is blocking all sorts of access to the outside world, just what we would expect from despotic governments. If you are in a position to get word out to the world about Egypt, please do your best.

HELP!!!

The dictatorial Egyptian government has forced the three mobile network companies in Egypt to block SMS sending and receiving. They also blocked the BBM services.

In Suez (one of the governates on the Suez Canal), they cut off the mobile phone networks and landlines as well!

Besides blocking Twitter, they started blocking FB! And they intend on cutting off the whole internet service all over Egypt tomorrow, 28th Jan!

They want us to be separated from the whole world so that they kill and slaughter us as they wish with no witness to their crimes!!!

Try to spread the news please. Help us make more pressure on them to leave us ask for OUR rights that have been taken from us by Mubarak the dictator who has been ruling us for THIRTY years!!!

Do Not Buy Israeli Hummus (Or Israeli Anything)

1. It’s always nice to be vindicated. Since the inception of this blog I have argued that the “peace process” has never been anything but a complete fraud serving as a front to aid Israeli designs toward displacing as many Palestinians as possible and taking as much land as possible.  Those who thought that the lawn jockey Barack Obama would change anything in this regard should get on the next flotilla to Gaza.

2. As on openly practicing hummus-sexual, back in September of 2009  I  posted about Sabra hummus, Sabra being owned by Strauss, an Israeli company, and I urged people to boycott hummus made by Israeli-owned firms. (As  have many others before and since.)  Now, thanks to the Sabbah Daily, I have learned that well the cat has hit the fan, if you will, at Depaul University (school motto “We don’t need no Finklesteins”) where a student group called “Students for Justice in Palestine” has been urging the University to stop selling Sabra products.  There are some pretty good graphics on the page I’ve just linked to and one is below.  They also have an on-line petition that you can sign here.

Wake Up and Smell the Apartheid

Now it turns out that Strauss is a big supporter of the IDF and in particular the infamous Golani Brigade and the Givati Brigade. Strauss is proud of its support of these notorious human rights violators –  and brags about this on its websites. Oh, wait. On their English website they took this info off, but they kept it on the Hebrew page according to this report. Man, where is MEMRI when you really need them? But I digress.

According to the Indymedia report to which I just linked above – and I am quoting directly from that report – Strauss had the following wording on its website in English until recently stating that its

“connection with soldiers goes as far back as the country, and even further. We see a mission and need to continue to provide our soldiers with support, to enhance their quality of life and service conditions, and sweeten their special moments. We have adopted the Golani reconnaissance platoon for over 30 years and provide them with an ongoing variety of food products for their training or missions, and provide personal care packages for each soldier that completes the path.”

However, on that same page on January 18, 2011, I found this wording:

The funds are designated for welfare, cultural and educational activities, such as pocket money for underprivileged soldiers, sports and recreational equipment, care packages, and books and games for the soldiers’ club. Yotvata, our dairy in the south, contributes likewise to the southern Shualei Shimshon unit.

This down plays the 30-year connection but I guess they are just so proud of their support for human rights violations that they just had to have something in there.

Historically, the Israeli army has been a flagrant violator of human rights and international law. Even in this context, the Golani Brigade has attracted particular attention. According to a January 2009 article in Ha’aretz Daily, the Golani Brigade “is known as a brigade that struggles with no small number of disciplinary problems and scandals, caused by bad behavior ranging from revolts against commanders to abuse of Palestinians.”

“Breaking the Silence“, a group composed of ex-Israeli soldiers, has documented numerous cases of Golani Brigade involvement in human rights abuses. For example, in November 2008, members of the Golani Brigade filmed themselves forcing a captive, blindfolded Palestinian to sing humiliating songs, some, as the BBC news describes it, “of a sexual nature,” and some about the Golani Brigade. In December 2005, a Golani Brigade officer was convicted for beating a Palestinian detainee and threatening to cut off his penis.

These guys are real sons of bitches. Samuel Nichols, whose report in Indymedia I quoted from above, writes in that same report of his own experiences with the Golani Brigadge.

Back in November 2009, when I was with a Christian Peacemaker Team in the West Bank, the Golani brigade was stationed in Hebron. Throughout their stay I witnessed and documented the extreme and unwarranted use of violence on Palestinian residents as Golani soldiers inflicted head wounds, broke civilians’ hands, and sexually harassed women at checkpoints. The Israeli military’s occupation of Hebron is consistently inhumane, but the maltreatment of Palestinian residents by the Golani Brigade is unparalleled.

Buy Sabra hummus and kill a Palestinian.  Sounds like a good deal to me. Or how about, “Buy Sabra hummus, cut off a Palestinian’s dick.” ?

As is usually the case with Israeli entities, Strauss’ website is filled with information about what a shitty outfit it is once you can see through all of the Zionist Bullshit. (Which is why you need to buy your ZBF today and if you do we will give you a free hummus-making kit.)

For example, while the besieged Palestinians in Gaza are barely allowed enough to eat, Strauss is doing the following:

What is Carmiel? Note Strauss is not talking about Carmel but rather another “Israeli” town of Carmiel (also commonly spelled Karmiel) in Northern Israel. Here is how that town of about 50,000 Jews came into existence:

In 1956, about 1,275 acres (5.16 km²) of land in the Israeli Arab villages of Deir al-Asad, Bi’ina and Nahf were declared “closed areas” by Israeli authorities. This area, near the main road between Acre and Safed, had been an important marble quarrying site. In 1961, the Israeli authorities expropriated the land to build Karmiel.

Sigh.

Of course, this fact should come as no surprise since the whole country is just the result of one big land grab.  But isn’t it comforting to know that by buying Sabra hummus you are feeding Jewish kids living on land stolen from Arab kids?

3. The Macy Gray story is getting out. On Facebook in response to her request for input, I told her to go ahead and go to Israel and perform but to then travel in the West Bank and Gaza if possible and get to know the Palestinians and then hold a press conference, if she so desires, to talk about what she has seen in front of the cameras. Anyway, she’s getting endless shit from Israelis not for going, but for criticizing Israel in the first place.  You can never do enough to please these people. Never.

The living mummy is advocating genocide and is doing so in part with an organization that you can make tax-deductable donations to.  Yes, advocating genocide in these United States is considered charitable work.  Maybe the chief IRA terrorism supporter on the Homeland Security Committee, who like Geller, lives in New York, ought to have investigators from his committee pay her a visit? 4. Also, blogging takes up way to much time. You see, I had this great idea but blogging got in the way.  I bumped into this Muslim Imam, we’ll call him “Fred” to hide his true (and non-existent) identity. Fred is from Pakistan and he is an Imam at the USS Liberty Mosque in Bumfuck, Idaho. It’s a nice mosque.

He has a Ph.D. in Islamic studies from Al-Azhar, speaks five languages, served six years in the US military and has been a major proponent of reconciliation between Muslims and assholes like Pam Geller.  He does lots of charitable work in the community helping the homeless, works as an aide in Bumfuck’s hospital (he even introduced doctors at Bumfuck General to the science of anesthesiology), and he teaches adults- who themselves are teachers at Bumfuck High School (school motto “Exit”) how to read. Needless to say, Fred, in his role as a Muslim leader has been approached by at least 7 different FBI agents who have tried to get him to blow up Bumfuck Middle School,  the Bumfuck Jewish Day Care Center, Bumfuck’s ADL chapter headquarters and most recently, the Sarah Palin’s Birthplace Museum in downtown Bumfuck. Fred says he damn near agreed to that last one but it turns out that the Museum is right next to Bumfuck’s only Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet, so Fred and his interlocutor decided not to do it because the blast might kill all the FBI agents while they are having lunch or dinner.

Anyway, back to my great idea. You see, Fred’s recently been in touch with the head of a country that considers itself an Islamic State (we’ll call it Bombistan) and which sees itself as a custodian for Muslims world-wide. This Muslim leader, we’ll call him Billybob, has set up two organizations designed to get Muslims to travel to Bombistan in order to make them see how important Bombistan is to their Muslim identity so that they will consider moving there permanently and becoming Bombistanis or to at least be willing to spy on the United States for Bombistan.   Billybob has gotten his government to provide millions of dollars as seed money to for the two organizations and has also solicited funds from the Muslim World League (MWL), Muslims United Against Fucking Assholes Like Pam Geller (MUAFALPG), The Muslim Brotherhood (MB), Hizbullah (SHI’ITES!) and the Organization for the Establishment of a Bomb Making Factory in the Ground Zero Mosque – General Command. (OEBMFGZM-GC).

So I told Fred “You know, I bet you could set up chapters for those organizations in the United States as tax-deductable charities. It’ll all be perfectly legal and you can send your agents into all the mosques and the country’s 6 million Islamic schools to ask for money and the stupid fucking shit-eating football-watching American taxpayers can foot the bill. At the same time you can recruit all those Mooselims to go to Bombistan and learn where their true identity lies.”

Fred liked this idea a lot. So he set up offices for both organizations in Washington, DC, New York, Bumfuck, and in Lakewood, New Jersey. He staffed them with current and former members of Bombistan’s military and with local hires many of whom are dual Bombistan-US citizens. He got both organizations recognized as tax-deductable charities and started raking in the mullas, er, moolah, you know, money. Lots of it.

You’ll never guess what happened. Surprise! Surprise! The FBI, CIA, NATO, ADL, Scotland Yard, KGB, MOSSAD, Shin Bet, DHS, DHL, UPS, ATF, NYPD, Shomrin, Ateret Cohanim and the PLO all raided all of Fred’s offices, Fred’s house, Fred’s mother’s house, the houses of Fred’s 22 adult children (hell, he has four wives), and the KFC in Bumfuck all on the same night and took everything away as evidence.  Fred is in Gitmo, his employees are being put on trial for espionage and there’s no KFC in Bumfuck anymore. Open Letter to the President on Jonathan Pollard

1. Okay folks, below is the text of the letter that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu read aloud to the Israeli Knesset (the one in Jerusalem, not the one in Washington, D.C.) in which he requests clemency for Jonathan Pollard. (My own letter is item 2 below.)  As is the case with just about anything coming from Netanyahu, the argument is filled with half-truths and lies of commission and omission.

From this article in the Jewish Week, I think that the pro-Pollard Jews are being told to just keep their mouths shut because so much of their public arguments in favor of Pollard are so full of shit that they only work against his getting released. The article I’ve linked to all but says so directly.

Instead, the letter’s being made public, done at the advice of Lawrence Korb, an Islamofascist of course, and its tone are to take the lead.  The letter makes Israel look pretty damn good, right up to and including the alleged (and total bullshit claim) that Israel does not engage in espionage against the United States and certainly hasn’t done so since the Pollard affair became an affair.  It’s a “I’m sorry Daddy, I fucked up” letter and now big Daddy is going to say “It’s okay my dear son, I’ll let him go.”

I believe Pollard’s sentence will soon be commuted and he will be out of jail. It’s been set up by the likes of Korb (and others) and Obama has been given his orders. They are making it easy for him. If he doesn’t release Pollard, expect some serious Obama scandals to start making their ways into the media.

Here’s the letter. Again, for you Shas Party members, the red highlights are mine.

Dear Mr. President,

On behalf of the people of Israel, I am writing to you to request clemency for Jonathan Pollard.

At the time of his arrest, Jonathan Pollard was acting as an agent of the Israeli government. Even though Israel was in no way directing its intelligence efforts against the United States, its actions were wrong and wholly unacceptable. Both Mr. Pollard and the Government of Israel have repeatedly expressed remorse for these actions, and Israel will continue to abide by its commitment that such wrongful actions will never be repeated.

As you know, Mr. President, I have raised the question of Jonathan Pollard’s release numerous times in discussions with your administration and with previous U.S. administrations. Previous Israeli Prime Ministers and Presidents have also requested clemency for Mr. Pollard from your predecessors.

Since Jonathan Pollard has now spent 25 years in prison, I believe that a new request for clemency is highly appropriate. I know that this view is also shared by former senior American officials with knowledge of the case as well as by numerous Members of Congress.

Jonathan Pollard has reportedly served longer in prison than any person convicted of similar crimes, and longer than the period requested by the prosecutors at the time of his plea bargain agreement. Jonathan has suffered greatly for his actions and his health has deteriorated considerably.

I know that the United States is a country based on fairness, justice and mercy. For all these reasons, I respectfully ask that you favorably consider this request for clemency. The people of Israel will be eternally grateful.

2. Here’s my letter to the Israeli Vice President for American Affairs:

Dear Mr. President,

Go ahead and release Jonathan Pollard. He is due to get out five years from now anyway. But I ask you, on behalf of  all the tuyuur here at Mantiq al-Tayr, to condition that release on the following:

1.       Israel must first provide the United States with copies of every single document that Pollard stole as was supposed to have happened 25 years ago but never did.

2.       Israel must provide the names of all of its other intelligence assets currently within the United States as well those assets that provided Pollard’s handlers with individual document numbers identifying the documents Pollard was then ordered to steal by his handlers.

3.       That Israel allow the survivors of the USS Liberty to organize a full and complete inquiry into the reasons behind Israel’s deliberate attempt to sink the USS Liberty and kill every man on board and that the inquiry be backed by the full powers of the Executive Branch of the United States.

4.       That Jonathan Pollard renounce his Israeli citizenship and be required to remain in the United States for the rest of his life, with no foreign travel allowed.

5.       That Jonathan Pollard be required to sign a loyalty oath to the United States in which he also agrees never to disclose any classified information he still knows about.

6.       That Jonathan Pollard not be allowed to profit in any way whatsoever from his acts of espionage from the United States. No speaking fees, no money from books, nothing. Any and all monies should be given to the Palestinian people, especially to those orphaned by the Israeli army and other Zionists and also to the parents of Palestinian children murdered by the Israelis. Further, he is to receive no funds or other forms of remuneration from any entity affiliated in any way with the state of Israel or which provides either directly or indirectly any form of aid and comfort to the State of Israel or its citizens wherever they may reside.

7.       That Pollard be required to lecture in synagogues and Jewish private schools throughout the United States on the evils of dual loyalties and the necessity of never betraying the United States.  He should also be required to do the same before major Jewish organizations, such as the Conference of Presidents of  Major American Jewish Organizations and all of the signatories to this letter sent to you on January 3, 2011.

8.       That Jonathan Pollard be required to meet on a regular basis with members and organizations of the American Muslim community to learn about their concerns and then share those concerns when doing the speaking engagements outlined in item 7.
