The Cherry Tree Carol

1. The Cherry Tree Carol is a haunting story of the mystery and beauty of Christmas derived from one of the apocryphal Gospels, that of Psuedo- Matthew, which is also know as The Infancy Gospel of Matthew.

In this now popular Christmas carol, Joseph and Mary are walking near or through an orchard of cherry trees. She asks Joseph to pick some cherries for her because she is with child and would appreciate a helping hand. Joseph, as husbands tend to do when they discover their wives are pregnant and they know they are not the father, gets angry and tells her to just let the guy who got her pregnant get the cherries for her. No doubt dejected and feeling rejected, Mary knows not what to do.

But then a voice cries out from within his mother’s womb.  It’s the voice of Jesus who commands the cherry trees bow down so that his mother may have something to eat. The trees do what any tree would do if ordered by Jesus, they bow down and Mary exclaims to the effect of  “Hey Joseph, look, I can get all the cherries I want, nyah nyah.” Joseph then realizes that there’s more going on than he at first realized.

Now in the Psuedo-Gospel of Matthew, Chapter Twenty, the story as one might expect, is a bit different, but the similarities are clear. In this version, thought to be the inspiration for The Cherry Tree Carol, Mary, Joseph and a very infant Jesus are in the desert in Egypt and are exhausted from the heat. They come across a date palm tree where they rest. Mary asks Joseph for some dates, but they are pretty high up in the tree and he whines about it saying that instead she should be concerned because of the lack of water and their thirst.  The baby Jesus orders the date palm to lower it’s branches and his Mother is able to eat.  Now the date palm, being humble and worshipful, did not rise back up after she had eaten, but rather it awaited Jesus’ command. Jesus tells it to rise, says it will have its place in paradise, and then he makes one more request of it – something interesting in light of the Quranic version of this story that I will discuss below. He asks it to provide water through one of its hidden roots and it does so – providing clear, cool and sparkling water for the three of them and their animals.

2. Many features of the Cherry Tree Carol and the story from which it is derived are found in the Quranic version of the story in Surah 19, verses 16-34. In this version Joseph is noticeably absent, an absence which highlights the miraculous nature of Jesus’  birth.  The angel Gabrielle appears to Mary, who has gone away from her people for some sort of religious purpose,  in fully human form and tells her she will give birth to a son. She is astonished by this and asks how on earth that could be possible since she has never been touched by a man. Gabrielle tells her that this is easy for God and that her son will be sent as a mercy to mankind.

So she is now with child and is driven to a date palm tree during the pains of childbirth, pains so severe she wishes she had never been born.  But then a voice cries out – said by commentators to be that of Gabrielle though in my own view it could even be that of Jesus – who tells her that all is well and that water has been provided for her beneath her feet. He then tells her to shake the date-palm and that fresh and ripe dates will come pouring down. He tells her to eat and drink and “cool thine eye.” Lastly the voice commands her that if she comes across any man to say that she has vowed to speak to no one that day.

The next thing we see is Mary carrying her new baby back to her people who challenge her morality, as she had no doubt expected and feared. But keeping to her command, she said nothing to them and merely pointed to her baby. The crowd mocked her telling her that they could not possibly converse with a new born.  At this point, the baby Jesus performs his own version of “enough is enough” as he addresses the crowd in no uncertain terms telling them, among other things, that God has made him a prophet and that he is to be blessed wherever he is. He also tells them that he has been commanded to be faithful to his mother, something he clearly intends to do. No doubt the audience was dumb struck. . .

The new-born Jesus then closes:  “And peace be upon me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I am raised up alive.”

2. Well, Frosty the Fake [FTF] is at it again. Apparently there isn’t any more money to be made in bashing Mexicans and Americans of African origin, so he’s continuing his poorly-researched and poorly-written and just plain embarrassing series on how Islam sucks and all the Muslims want to kill you [when they aren't too busy having to defend Jesus and the Virgin Mary from Israeli attacks since the "Judeo-christians" won't do it].  There must be good money in the Islam Bashing Business (the IBB) because so many people are into it these days. Frosty is just a “bigot-come-lately”.  His stuff is so awful a middle-school teacher would toss it into the trash and give him an F for Fake.

Unable to perform basic research or to document properly any of his sources, Frosty The Fake [FTF] resorts to making things up and hoping that enough people out there are so stupid that they will believe him. And on that point he is correct. Thank you Main Stream Media and thanks also to our educational system. Working together you have created a nation of imbeciles and Zionist stooges with little or no ability to think for themselves. I am sure the United States military is equally grateful.

FTF’s horribly written and barely coherent articles provide such a target-rich environment that it would take us years here at Mantiq al-Tayr to handle every single half-truth and outright false hood contained within them. The same is the case with respect to his utter inability to document or cite anything properly.  So all you Mantiqiayyans out there will just have to settle for just a few selections from FTF’s so-called articles.

Now that was pretty good wasn’t it? I mean, not as good as watching Amir Khan beat the shit out of Zionist boxer Dimitry Salita, but still not bad.

Now let’s take a look at  three of FTF’s treasures.

In this masterpiece he talks about a fatwa issued in 1998 by Usama bin Laden. As usual red highlights are mine.

Fatwa world war: The new Islamic conquest began February 23 1998; (Published) A Statement signed by many Islamic Jihad leaders from most Muslim countries, first by Sheikh Osama Bin-Laden: “In compliance with Allah’s order, we issue the following fatwa to all Muslims: The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies, civilians and military, is an individual duty for every Muslim who can, in any country in which it is possible. We with Allah’s help call on every Muslim who believes in Allah and wishes to be rewarded, to comply with Allah’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it. Unless you go forth, Allah will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place.” Muhammad, prophet of Islam

Well, the Fake got the year right and part of the quote. First of all though, the fatwa was not signed by “many Islamic Jihad leaders from most Muslim countries.” That’s pure, unadultered, Frosty-Faked Zionist bullshit.  The fatwa was signed by exactly five people. Usama bin Laden, two Eyptians, and two Pakistanis. Most of the signatories are not even qualified to issue a fatwa – to include bin Laden himself and his side kick goofball Ayman al-Zawahiri. This evidence is easily available all over the internet. In addition, the fatwa and many other bin Laden documents can be found in “Messages to the World: The Statements of Osama Bin Laden” edited by Bruce Lawrence and widely available. Lawrence seems to have himself misidentified one of the five who signed the fatwa, but no one doubts that the number is five.

Now let’s look at the actual quote, not the made up one by FTF. Here I will use the translation in Lawrence’s book. The translator is James Howarth. BTW, I am not 100 percent pleased with the rendering, but it is certainly good enough for our purposes.

On this basis and in accordance with God’s will, we pronounce to all Muslims the following judgement:

To kill the Americans and their allies-civilians and military-is an individual duty incumbent upon every Muslim in all countries, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the Holy Mosque from their grip, so that their armies leave all the territory of Islam, defeated, broken, and unable to threaten any Muslim. This is in accordance with the words of God Almighty:  ‘Fight the idolaters at any time, if they first fight you;”  “Fight them until there is no more persecution and until worship is devoted to God.” Why should you not fight in God’s cause and for those oppressed men, women, and children who cry out: ‘Lord rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors! By Your grace, give us a protector and a helper.!?”

With God’s permission we call on everyone who believes in God and wants a reward to comply with His will to kill the Americans and seize their money wherever and whenever they find them. We also call on the religious scholars, their leaders, their youth and their soldiers, to launch the raid on the soldiers of satan, the Americans, and whichever devil’s supporters are aligned with them, to rought those behind them so that they will not forget it.”

The fatwa then closes with more quotes from the Quran.

So, Frosty seems to be incapable of using an ellipsis and he then adds a statement, attributed by FTF to Muhammad, that does not appear anywhere in the fatwa.  And  he does not use the ellipsis because the stuff he deliberately took out adds context that FTF will never discuss.

Does the fatwa suck? Of course it does. Most [meaning damn near every single one] Muslims will have nothing to do with it.  However, many Americans – the products of our media and educational system and of FTF’s sloppy writings – don’t seem to  have a problem with secular fatwas issued by our Department of Justice allowing torture, or military fatwas sending our troops into Iraq, Afghanistan and tons of other places. The fact is: the West wages far more Jeeeehad than the Muslims do. And kills a hell of a lot more people.

The Fake also likes to cite things that most likely never happened to justify his vicious positions. Case in point is the Fake’s recycling of the old Internet story about the prison Imam who never existed who and was engaged in an argument that never happened while making it look like it is something new. The event comes from the words of Rick Mathes, a prison evangelist who claims that back in 2003  he confronted a Muslim Imam in a prison whom he claims he  forced to admit that Muslims want to kill and the Christians and the Jews. The entire discussion between the two is obviously totally contrived, but the Fake quotes it in full without acknowledging that the prison itself says no such confrontation took place and that the “Imam” was not an “Imam” at all, but was rather an ordinary prisoner.

The man who gave the presentation about Islam was not a Muslim minister; he was an inmate pressed into service to present a short film on Islam and answer some questions when the prison’s Volunteer Coordinator was “unable to find an Imam to speak.” Moreover, reported Mr. Kniest, the prison’s Volunteer Coordinator said that “The inmate did a good job,” adding, “He was asked a few questions that were beyond his ability to answer. But he was not asked anything like that question [in the editorial]“:

. . . the Volunteer Coordinator at the prison said that no such exchange as the editorial reported ever took place. “He certainly did not ‘Hang his head in shame’,” according to Kniest. In fact, the inmate was thanked by the assembly before being escorted back to his quarters. Furthermore, the coordinator does not recall any questions dealing with jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world as reported in the editorial. In the editorial the inmate is presented as an Imam, or Islamic minister, which he clearly was not.

So at best it is Mathes’ word against the prison official. But again, the conversation is so contrived that you’d have to be an American to think it is true.  And since Americans are so brain washed, the Fake can take this retreaded and obviously phony statement and push it out to be devoured by the retards.

Another fake story that the Fake circulated allegedly took place on an airplane recently. Again, the portrayal of the event cited by FTF is so patently ridiculous that on its face you can see that the story is a wild exaggeration of events.  The alleged eye-witness is named Ted Patruna who claimed he was on Air Tran Flight 297 back on November 18th, 2009 when a 11 Muslims got on board and began to act like crazies and Ted, brave Texan that he is, helped save the day and prevented the terrorists from raping your grandmother – or something like that. The story is totally stupid. FTF reported it on December 7,  after the fact that the story is a fake was public knowledge. Yeah. After it was public knowledge. Hmm. I can hear you asking, “Mantiq, how can you say that Ted Patruna did not in fact stop Adam Pearleman Gadahn from raping my grandmother?”  Thought you’d never ask.

Here’s the link to the point-by-point rebuttal of Petruna’s obviously fake statement issued by AirTran on December 4.  AirTran maintains Petruna was never even on the plane. Furthermore, Petruna claims that after all the commotion caused by crazy Arabs on the plane that the flight was cancelled. But it wasn’t. It was delayed for more than two hours but then did indeed take off and go to its original destination. Snopes covers the event as well and adds some other interesting info provided by someone who was indeed on the airplane to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Her account makes sense.

Sadly, Petruna won’t talk to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Wonder why?

Fakes like FTF will say and use anything at their disposal and they do so with no remorse whatsoever. They care not a wit about the consequences of what they are doing. Unfortunately, these Zionist bullshitters have a large audience of Zionist-bullshit-fed Americans to feed on so they feel, correctly, that they can say anything they want to and get away with it. Obama Slams Zionist Lobby By Holding Huge Hanukkah Party at the White House

Israeli Vice President for American Affairs (IVPAA), Barack Hussein Obama, really socked it to the Zionist Lobby (ZL) this past week when he only invited 550 people to a Hanukkah party to be held at the White House on December 16.  We here at Mantiq al-Tayr are so proud of this display of strength by Obama, Rahm Israel Emmanuel and David Axelrod, that we had to share this information with the entire parrotriot community.

It’s the hottest ticket in town and the entire tribe wants to go. But Obama, who is continuing the tradition of Hanukkah parties at the White House started by George W. Bush (this is called “change” in Hebrew), and who is making the White House Kitchen kosher for this special event just like George W. Bush started doing in 2005 (for you dumb asses out there in the Shas party – this is called “change” in Hebrew), has slapped the Jews in the face by inviting more people than Bush did on average, despite the bitching and moaning (by Islamofascists of course) to the contrary:

What the hell is a Judeo-christian? Maybe it’s a Christian who has replaced Christ with the state of Israel?  No sure. Certainly Jews don’t call themselves “Christian-Judeos”. In fact, lots of Jews seem to have it in for Christianity – including those lovely mass murders and their supporters who make up the majority population in Jonathan Pollard’s favorite country.  I bet them there Mooselims don’t call themselves “Judeo-Mooselims” and for good reason. But again,  I digress.

Here’s a nice example of what the Sacred State (SS) people think of Jesus and his Mother.  It’s really funny isn’t it? Let’s see if you enjoy the references to her getting fingered by John the Baptist, using dildos and being a slut as much as the Israeli audience did.  Also, portraying Jesus as a fat pig went over pretty well too. Muslims being Muslims, and not Judeo-Muslims, found this Israeli broadcast offensive and exposed it for what it was. Funny, I didn’t see this done on the O’reilly F*ctor, nor did I see former AIPAC employer Wolf Blitzer comment on it. Also, for some reason that I just can’t quite comprehend, I couldn’t find anything about it on ADL’s website either. However, doing a search on the word “Jesus” on their site leads to some very interesting results.

Anyway, for you Arabists out there, you can listen to the Arabic and ignore the English subtitles. For you “Judeo-christians” who don’t know Arabic, like David Gaubatz, you’ll have to rely on the English subtitles. But at least they are much better than the ones in the video above. Oh, by the way,  the Muslims even interview an Arab Catholic priest who clearly understands what’s going in the world a whole hell of a lot better than you do.

So let’s see if the “Judeo-christians” can defend Jesus and the Virgin Mary as well as Hizbullah did. I doubt they will.

The Liberty Hour

The USS Liberty After the Israeli Attack

1. Saturdays are not as much fun as they used to be and today is a particularly bad one. Ever since John Stadmiller, the head of the Republic Broadcasting Corporation, canceled the Liberty Hour, Saturdays just have not had that same air of excitement.

The Liberty Hour was hosted by Phil Tourney and Mark Glenn and ran for two hours each Saturday morning from 10:00 Central Texas Time to noon. The show was dedicated to the 34 brave men were killed on June 8, 1967 when Israel deliberately tried to sink the USS Liberty off the coast of the Gaza Strip in the Mediterranean. The show was also dedicated to all the survivors of that fateful day over 170 of whom were wounded.

Well, the Liberty Hour, just like our memories of the men whose actions that day have immortalized them, has not died. Phil Tourney and Mark Glenn have taken the Liberty Hour to the podcast format and their first two shows can be found here and they are free. Counsel to the U.S. Navy Court of Inquiry’s investigation into the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty

I, Ward Boston, Jr. do declare that the following statement is true and complete:

For more than 30 years, I have remained silent on the topic of USS Liberty. I am a military man and when orders come in from the Secretary of Defense and President of the United States, I follow them.

However, recent attempts to rewrite history compel me to share the truth.

In June of 1967, while serving as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps, Department of the Navy, I was assigned as senior legal counsel for the Navy’s Court of Inquiry into the brutal attack on USS Liberty, which had occurred on June 8th.

The late Admiral Isaac C. Kidd, president of the Court, and I were given only one week to gather evidence for the Navy’s official investigation into the attack, despite the fact that we both had estimated that a proper Court of Inquiry into an attack of this magnitude would take at least six months to conduct.

Admiral John S. McCain, Jr., then Commander-in-chief, Naval Forces Europe (CINCUSNAVEUR), at his headquarters in London, had charged Admiral Kidd (in a letter dated June 10, 1967) to “inquire into all the pertinent facts and circumstances leading to and connected with the armed attack; damage resulting therefrom; and deaths of and injuries to Naval personnel.”

Despite the short amount of time we were given, we gathered a vast amount of evidence, including hours of heartbreaking testimony from the young survivors.

The evidence was clear. Both Admiral Kidd and I believed with certainty that this attack, which killed 34 American sailors and injured 172 others, was a deliberate effort to sink an American ship and murder its entire crew. Each evening, after hearing testimony all day, we often spoke our private thoughts concerning what we had seen and heard. I recall Admiral Kidd repeatedly referring to the Israeli forces responsible for the attack as “murderous bastards.” It was our shared belief, based on the documentary evidence and testimony we received first hand, that the Israeli attack was planned and deliberate, and could not possibly have been an accident.

I am certain that the Israeli pilots that undertook the attack, as well as their superiors, who had ordered the attack, were well aware that the ship was American.

I saw the flag, which had visibly identified the ship as American, riddled with bullet holes, and heard testimony that made it clear that the Israelis intended there be no survivors. 10. Not only did the Israelis attack the ship with napalm, gunfire, and missiles, Israeli torpedo boats machine-gunned three lifeboats that had been launched in an attempt by the crew to save the most seriously wounded — a war crime.

Admiral Kidd and I both felt it necessary to travel to Israel to interview the Israelis who took part in the attack. Admiral Kidd telephoned Admiral McCain to discuss making arrangements. Admiral Kidd later told me that Admiral McCain was adamant that we were not to travel to Israel or contact the Israelis concerning this matter.

Regrettably, we did not receive into evidence and the Court did not consider any of the more than sixty witness declarations from men who had been hospitalized and were unable to testify in person.

I am outraged at the efforts of the apologists for Israel in this country to claim that this attack was a case of “mistaken identity.”

In particular, the recent publication of Jay Cristol’s book, The Liberty Incident, twists the facts and misrepresents the views of those of us who investigated the attack.

It is Cristol’s insidious attempt to whitewash the facts that has pushed me to speak out.

I know from personal conversations I had with Admiral Kidd that President Lyndon Johnson and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara ordered him to conclude that the attack was a case of “mistaken identity” despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Admiral Kidd told me, after returning from Washington, D.C. that he had been ordered to sit down with two civilians from either the White House or the Defense Department, and rewrite portions of the court’s findings.

Admiral Kidd also told me that he had been ordered to “put the lid” on everything having to do with the attack on USS Liberty. We were never to speak of it and we were to caution everyone else involved that they could never speak of it again.

I have no reason to doubt the accuracy of that statement as I know that the Court of Inquiry transcript that has been released to the public is not the same one that I certified and sent off to Washington.

I know this because it was necessary, due to the exigencies of time, to hand correct and initial a substantial number of pages. I have examined the released version of the transcript and I did not see any pages that bore my hand corrections and initials. Also, the original did not have any deliberately blank pages, as the released version does. Finally, the testimony of Lt. Painter concerning the deliberate machine gunning of the life rafts by the Israeli torpedo boat crews, which I distinctly recall being given at the Court of Inquiry and included in the original transcript, is now missing and has been excised.

Following the conclusion of the Court of Inquiry, Admiral Kidd and I remained in contact. Though we never spoke of the attack in public, we did discuss it between ourselves, on occasion. Every time we discussed the attack, Admiral Kidd was adamant that it was a deliberate, planned attack on an American ship.

In 1990, I received a telephone call from Jay Cristol, who wanted to interview me concerning the functioning of the Court of Inquiry. I told him that I would not speak to him on that subject and prepared to hang up the telephone. Cristol then began asking me about my personal background and other, non-Court of Inquiry related matters. I endeavored to answer these questions and politely extricate myself from the conversation. Cristol continued to return to the subject of the Court of Inquiry, which I refused to discuss with him. Finally, I suggested that he contact Admiral Kidd and ask him about the Court of Inquiry.

At no time did I ever hear Admiral Kidd speak of Cristol other than in highly disparaging terms. I find Cristol’s claims of a “close friendship” with Admiral Kidd to be utterly incredible. I also find it impossible to believe the statements he attributes to Admiral Kidd, concerning the attack on USS Liberty.

Several years later, I received a letter from Cristol that contained what he purported to be his notes of our prior conversation. These “notes” were grossly incorrect and bore no resemblance in reality to that discussion. I find it hard to believe that these “notes” were the product of a mistake, rather than an attempt to deceive. I informed Cristol that I disagreed with his recollection of our conversation and that he was wrong. Cristol made several attempts to arrange for the two of us to meet in person and talk but I always found ways to avoid doing this. I did not wish to meet with Cristol as we had nothing in common and I did not trust him.

Contrary to the misinformation presented by Cristol and others, it is important for the American people to know that it is clear that Israel is responsible for deliberately attacking an American ship and murdering American sailors, whose bereaved shipmates have lived with this egregious conclusion for many years.

2.  Frosty Woolbridge is a bicyclist turned xenophobe who can be found all over the internet, including on News With Views and on Rense.  He also had a radio show on RBN which seems to have ended in February of 2008.  [I had thought he was still on RBN and have revised this paragraph and those below upon being informed that he was not longer there and reissued this post under it's current title.] Lately he has turned to spewing out typical Islam bashing trash, ill researched and very poorly written, but also dangerous.

Frosty appears on Jeff Rense’s page [and is an on-air guest] – but I sometimes  wonder if Rense isn’t doing it at least in part to expose what an ignorant scum bag this guy is. An excellent case in point is here where Frosty makes mistake after mistake in his virulent anti-Muslim tirade and is totally destroyed by the comments to his article which are appended to the post.

Frosty the bicyclist can’t even get basic facts correct. He thinks that Muhammad was born in the fourth century, that Sirhan Sirhan is a Muslim, that the Koran teaches that you kill all non-Muslims, and that all serious acts of terrorism since 1972 are due to “Muslim immigrants infiltrating host countries.” But I guess to make a living an RBN host has to do what an RBN host has to do.  Anyway, go to his silly article and then read the responses. You’ll be a better person for it. If Frosty can actually read, he should read those responses too.

Okay, I know that’s not fair. Frosty can read, at least a little bit.  The proof is that he has read the script – and it’s just one script – that all the Islam bashers use. Every single one. The folks at Loon Watch cover most of these clowns pretty well. I recommend the site highly. The problem with these loons of course  is that their propaganda does pave the way for killing large numbers of people for no reason whatsoever. They have no conscience. None. They should be tried in Gaza.

And now possible US citizen Obama is sending at least 30 thousand more troops into the abyss and Americans will do nothing about it because they’ve been fed the Zionist bullshit by the likes of Frosty the Flake.
