Zionist Bullshit II: The Contest

1. Okay Mantiqiyyans, it’s really time to show your stuff. Over the past few months we here at Mantiq al-Tayr have had all the fun when it comes to showing just how ridiculous Zionist argument are. We’ve really had a ball and judging from the comments we are getting many of you have enjoyed reading and commenting on the blog.

But now here is your big chance to show that you too can demonstrate how utterly stupid a Zionist argument can be. And we here at Mantiq al-Tayr wish to note that this contest, in part, is due to Zionist slumlord Sam Zell who owns the LA Times and the Baltimore Sun, at least until both go out of business. May God hasten that day. But I digress.

Yes, Slumlord Sam has used the LA Times as a floor mat, er, format, for one Yisrael Medad to do his own Aron Raskas imitation. Yisrael – born in the United States – thinks that he has a right to just take the land of the Palestinians because – well, because Jews just don’t have to obey the same laws that everyone else does. His arguments are so fallacious and easily shot down that he really ought to be embarrassed, but he clearly has no sense of shame. He does have a sense of his own superiority to Arabs though.

So, here’s the contest. Go read his piece of Hasbarah (and please remember the definition of Hasbarah that we use here at Mantiq al-Tayr) and then take one point he makes that you know is full of shit and make fun of it while showing how off-the-mark, misleading or just what a plain lie it is. Whoever submits the most bitingly funny critique of one of his points gets a prize. We haven’t determined what the prize is, but it won’t be a subscription to the LA Times or the Baltimore Sun.  Also, if we actually get a bunch of entries, I’ll also put them all together and make a post using them in the future.

Below I will take one point from his piece to sort of give you a running start, but feel free to do things in your own style.  Here goes.

You know folks, if I were going to make the argument that the Geneva Conventions do not apply to Palestine, I sure as hell would not make references to the International Court of Justice – unless I were trying to deceive you which is exactly what Yisrael Medad attempted to do this week writing for Slumlord Slam in the LA Times. Yisrael wants you to believe that the Geneva conventions do not apply to Israel and provides some opinions (all bullshit, btw) to that effect. In the course of this argument he says of the position that the Conventions do not apply and that the settlements are therefore legal:

Support for that position came from Judge Stephen M. Schwebel, former president of the International Court of Justice, who determined that Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria did not constitute “occupation.”

Stephen Myron Schwebel is quite the character and voted on the losing side in case before the ICJ against the US when it was engaging in terrorism against Nicaragua.  Nicaragua won that case, but, of course the US, just like Israel, ignored the ICJ. The fact that is guy is considered a legal expert shows how gross and disgusting the legal profession has become and is further reason for the fact that so many of us hate lawyers. But what Yisrael does not tell you is that the International Court of Justice itself, the actual body, not one guy who is not a member any more, has issued an advisory that the Geneva Conventions do apply to the West Bank.  I guess Yisrael just forgot. Selective memri, as they say.  Here’s a quote from a BBC piece on a ruling by the ICJ against the racist wall the Izzies have built. Highlights in red are mine, as usual.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued an advisory ruling that the West Bank barrier is illegal.

The court also accepted that the Geneva Convention does apply to the West Bank and Gaza and that the barrier breached the convention. This has been the general position of the international community, as affirmed in repeated United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Yes, once again Israel is at odds with the international community.  That’s because Israel and its supporters believe that there is one set of rules for them – meaning they get to do whatever they want – and another set of rules for the rest us – meaning we have to do whatever they want.

2. The “Feeling the Hate” video seems to keep getting censored on the Internet. I can’t imagine why, no doubt it is just due to a technical glitch. However, we have the video here at Mantiq al-Tayr and we will post it if it ever becomes completely unavailable. But right now, we want to have some fun with it.

First of all, the Anonymous Arabist has post a transcript of the video. Our hi-tech feathered experts here at Mantiq al-Tayr, now that they have perfected the Tafsiranator , got busily to work creating a very nice audio file of the video. The audio file, to which you will find a link below, is shorter than the video file and leaves out the stupid music those racist American Jews in Jerusalem were dancing to while making threats to kill or sexually abuse the President of the United States. The audio file is also kind of, well, cute.

5- White power! Fuck the niggers. [This is the guy from item number 1. I hate to disappoint him, but white nationalists have a tendency to hate the Jews. I hope he gets lost somewhere, like in Arab, Alabama, asks for directions, and is recognized by people who hate the SPLC. And yes, there really is an Arab, Alabama and it is pronounced Ayrab with an accent on the first syllable.]

6- He does care about Jews and he does care about the Arabs. The thing is, he doesn’t understand that this country is ours. [In that case all Jews should lose their citizenships in all other countries.]
