1. Some things just give you the creeps – there is something so unright about them that your internal bullshit meter gets stimulated. And surprise, surprise, they trace the need for their products back to 911. This ought to raise your bullshit meter higher than Alan Dershowitz’s hutzpah. 2. Last week Mantiq chirped a bit about Katherine Albrecht, a major privacy advocate in the United States. Ms. Albrecht has her own radio program on GCN and she archives her shows at one of her websites. Her radio show is actually soothing to listen to while at the same time bringing you facts about Real ID, Enhanced Driver’s license’s and RFID chips that you ignore at your peril. If you go there you will see her archives and for each hour of each program she provides a summary of the topics discussed. I know this doesn’t sound as sexy as “Israel Murders Everyone in Gaza While Griff Witte Reports on Rockets Hitting Tsederot” but in the not-so-long run it will be much more important.
3. Israeli Deputy Secretary of State for US Affairs Hillary Clinton is currently visiting her nation’s capital in Jerusalem. Yesterday, after attending the donors’ conference at Sharm al-Sheikh where she pledged $900 million to aid the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank she held a press conference and made the following points.
She stressed the “unshakable” support the US has for the Palestinian people no matter what kind of government the current Palestinian reconciliation talks produce. She also struck a positive note with respect to Syria, whose territory Israel has been occupying for 41 years, saying: “We are going to be sending two officials to Syria. There are a number of issues between Israel and the US due to the Israeli occupation, as well as the larger regional concerns that Israel obviously poses.”
While she met with current Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, she refused to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu who rejects a two-state solution out of hand. Noting her immediate supervisor’s ties to assassination squads and family history of violent terrorism against Palestinians, she also refused to meet with Tzipi Livni and called on members of the Israeli government and military to be tried for war crimes.

4. Arabic is a language that has a sort of hypnotic hold on many of those who want to learn it. Using the nifty tag feature on WordPress, Mantiq al-Tayr has discovered lots of people on WordPress who write about their experiences learning Arabic. One such person is an ESL teach who has a blog for her ESL class. On that blog she talks about why she wants to learn Arabic and mentions that she does her learning on her own using resources on the web. She has a great link to a song written and performed by Yusuf Islam (Cat – yes CAT – Stevens) to help children learn the alphabet as well as a little about Islam. We liked it. Hope you will too. When you go to the page linked above, scroll to the bottom to find that particular video. Her reasons for studying Arabic are also worth reading.

He then evaded the british for a 2nd time, and ended up in Berlin Nazi Germany as personal guest of Adolf Hitler. He organized battalions of Bosnian Muslims to fight for Hitler, hunting down and murdering thousands of jews and serbs. Most of the Arabs supported Nazi Germany over the allies. They the arabs were murdering Jews in the arab world as the 2nd world war was in motion. My family managed to escape our Arab homeland in 1950, although some unfortunate other members of our family weren’t so lucky and paid the price of freedom with their lives. We found out later clandestinely from some of our neighbours that they were brutally murdered by factions in the police force. I would never go back to even visit our homeland, whether or not there is one day peace declared between Israel and ———.

Now let me add that when I lived in Palestine (yes, the part now called Israel, not the West bank), I met many families, and particularly Moroccan Jews, who were desperately trying to leave “Israel” then. Why? Discrimination: European Jews are first-class citizens. All others are subhuman.. but slightly above Palestinians!
This family was prevented from leaving back then. They shared that they were treated like royalty in Morocco and that the laws in Morocco protected them more than Jewish or Israeli laws ever did!

It wasn’t the arabs who allowed the Jews of inquisitional Spain to settle in some parts of the Arab world joining the jewish communities who in some instances were already settled there for some two millenia, it was the Ottoman Turks who welcomed the jews, theyruled you . The jewish population of israel is comprised of nearly 60% of those jews who fled
arab lands in the 1940s. After the state of Israel was established most arab governments except ‘The Lebanon’ treated it’s jewish citizens as hostages to Israel, in some cases raped women as, well as having cigarette burns inflicted on them by the local police, after they tried to escape over the border into Turkey from that dhimmi land. Jews were treated as 3rd class citizens with the word ‘MUSSAWI’ stamped on their identity cards and passports for those that possessed them. If I would be a minister in the Israeli Knesset-Parliament I would enforce laws that would also have Israeli-Arabs identity cards and passports stamped ‘Muslim’ in retaliation for how those arab governments treated us.

how is it then possible for them to do that if those jews are supposed to be european anglo saxons, when it suits you, the so called european jews are anglo saxons the same race as northern europeans, some hopes. most of the european jews I have seen are indistinguishable from their co-religionists from the middle east, take the photograph of Chaim Wietzmann with Emir Abdullah of trans-Jordan in 1918, Weitzmann was dressed in arab dress and looked more Saudi than the Emir Abdullah, so why not put a sock in it and try to accept that the jews are here to stay. The reason I don’t live in Israel is that I prefer to live most of the time in Cannes, France.
Why don’t you go and live in that fabulous city of Gaza, I understand it gets’s pretty hot there in summer, that should suit your temperement.
